The following photographs recently turned up, dating back to 1991. We scanned them into the computer, and they are a fascinating reminder of the early days of the Trust, when a great deal of volunteer work went on, mainly tree-planting. The photos show a tree-planting work group on the steep hill at Stony Knapps. The landowner had given permission to the Trust to plant some indigenous trees which are now flourishing. Some of the people shown here are sadly no longer with us. In the picture below Peter Moreland (in the hat) can be seen next to Terry Freeman. In the foreground Roger Montague has his back to the camera. At the rear is Richard Holt, and his son Simon in the red trousers. The person with his head down could be Chris Holt, Simon's brother.
In the picture above from left to right, Chris Holt (nearly obscured by the hill), Peter Moreland's back view, Derrick Comley, Roger Montague and Terry Freeman.
